LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) — The ‘Great Grow Get Together’ is returning to Myrick Park on Saturday, Aug. 25.
From 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. you can stop by to taste food prepared by local chefs using the ‘Kids Cooking Challenge’ recipes.
There will also be music, games, raffles and a silent auction.
One of the guests that will be there is the winner of the challenge Julianna Dunn, who said she’s proud of finding a use for the surprise ingredient of coconut crème.
“For my Hawaiian Stir Fry, I had to marinate my meat with a special Hawaiian sauce,” Dunn explained. “And then I had to chop all my vegetables that I got from my bag and put it all together at the end.”
Organizers said Pearl Street Brewery will have their tap truck at the event and will donate a portion of sales back to GROW.
All proceeds from the event will directly benefit the work GROW does to connect youth to healthy food and nature.
