A warrant for the arrest of Freeman Cole has been issued after a woman was assaulted in a storage unit on the south side of La Crosse.
La Crosse, Wis. – (WXOW) – La Crosse authorities are looking for Freeman Cole, currently facing charges of Attempted First Degree Intentional Homicide regarding an attack last week at a southside La Crosse storage facility.
According to the criminal complaint, Freeman Cole pulled the woman into a storage unit and closed the door, then strangling and punching her.
According to the criminal complaint, last Tuesday a woman was at the outdoor storage business when Cole approached and first tried to hug her. He suddenly pulled her into the storage unit and closed the door.
The complaint notes that he then strangled her while repeatedly punching her over 10 times in the face and back of the head.
Two workers from a restaurant next door ran over to intervene, Cole fleeing the scene before officers arrived.
Additional charges filed against Cole include strangulation, false imprisonment, battery and theft.
An arrest warrant was issued for Cole. Any information on him or his whereabouts should be reported to La Crosse police or call Crime Stoppers at (608) 784-8477.
