WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. (WAOW) — There are a lot of people you might see in Kwik Trip, but a famous TikToker is probably not one you would expect.
Landen Alft, otherwise known as @phatboylandy on TikTok – where he has amassed nearly 800,000 followers and counting.
The fame has not gone to his head either.
“I would be doing it even if I had just my friends watching me because it’s just fun,” Alft said. “I like to dance. I’ve always been like a mover as we say in the biz.”
Alft enjoys the “normal life” of a Central Wisconsiner; he works at Kwik Trip and went to the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point and earned a degree in musical theatre.
He started making TikToks during the pandemic and has received the attention of everyone from Doja Cat to Howie Mandel.
“Landen, you’re the reason why I love TikTok,” said comedian Howie Mandel on his own TikTok. “You make me smile every day. You are just joy, buddy. You should be on AGT [America’s Got Talent]!”
Alft has also started a podcast with his brother Jordyn called “Phatboy and Friends Podcast.”
The podcast began in August and the two enjoy sitting down and chatting about anything and everything with their guests.
There is another perk of it, too.
“For the most part, my most popular videos are my dancing videos,” Alft said. “I think some people don’t even know what my voice sounds like and that’s why we did the podcast, too, to get people to maybe know me a little better.”
Alft said do not expect any major changes with what he puts on TikTok.
He is going to be himself and make whatever he is in the mood to do.
After moving, he will also pursue a career in theatre acting, but said he will still keep putting out content for the podcast and TikTok.
